Celebrated Chatra Divas on the Birth Anniversary of Late Bodofa Upendranath Brahma at PDUAM Tulungia

PADUAM Tulungia 31st March 2024: The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Rajballav Barman, the General Secretary of the Students Union. He greeted the attendees and expressed his gratitude for their presence on this significant occasion. Rajballav set the tone for the event, emphasizing the importance of commemorating the birth anniversary of the Late Bodofa Upendranath Brahma, a revered figure in Assamese history. 

Following the welcome address, Dr. Pranjal Morang, the Principal in charge, graced the occasion by lighting the ceremonial lamp. This symbolic gesture marked the beginning of the event and was accompanied by Dr. Morang's speech, where he shed light on the life and contributions of the Late Upendranath Brahma.

Dr. Raju Subba, an esteemed Assistant Professor from the Department of Management, delivered the keynote address. Dr. Subba eloquently highlighted the significance of celebrating the birth anniversary of the Late Upendranath Brahma as Chatra Divas. He emphasized Bodofa Upendranath Brahma's role as a social reformer, educationist, and advocate for the rights of indigenous people in Assam. Dr. Subba's address underscored the importance of honouring Brahma's legacy and continuing the fight for the rights and welfare of indigenous communities in the region.

A quiz competition was organized as part of the event to gauge the student's knowledge about the Bodoland Territorial Region. Dr. Porag Pachani, Assistant Professor from the Department of Management, took charge as the quiz master, while Sourav Chakraborty, Assistant Professor from the Department of Botany, served as the judge. The competition aimed to engage students in learning about their local region while fostering a spirit of healthy competition.

The event saw active participation from both students and teachers alike. Their enthusiastic involvement added to the vibrancy of the celebration, underscoring the collective commitment to honoring the legacy of Late Upendranath Brahma and promoting the welfare of indigenous communities in Assam.
