International Women’s Day Observed at PDUAM Tulungia

NSS Unit in collaboration with Women Cell of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya Tulungia Bongaigaon Assam has organized International Women’s Day on 8th March 2021. Teachers,  Students and  Non-Teaching staff of the college participated in the program. Speech by honorable College Principal, Dr. Gunindra Das focused on the struggles and achievements of women's in the society. He also encourages all the women's presents in the program by bringing the situations of ancient women  and their  participation in process of social change.
Teachers on their part highlighted on the Hindu mythology and its significance on women of present days, women's  participations in literatures, women's and their responsibilities in changing the society etc..Some other teachers also sung a song of renowned Assamese singer Dipali Borthakur and makes program more enjoyable. 
NSS Program officer of the college Mr. Porag Pachoni highlights on the theme of the year to celebrate International Women’s day #ChooseToChallenge. It indicates that a challenged world is an alert world, and from challenge comes change. 

Women’s are more empathic and sensitive, more receptive to the feelings of other. These qualities make women models of humanity. It is believed that women's are creator and has the power to change the creatures. 
The three colours namely purple,  green and white are used in International Women’s Day celebration.  Purple signifies justice and dignity, green symbolizes hope and white represents purity. The colors originated from the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU) in the UK in the year 1908.

The day is dedicated to all the women around the world. It becomes every citizens responsibility to identify and celebrate women's achievements and combat with gender bias and discrimination to bring gender parity. We cannot be complacent. 

Let us celebrate and acknowledge the social, cultural, political and economic achievement of women from all walks of life. Wishing everyone a very happy International Women’s day 2021.

World Environment Day Celebrated at PDUAM Tulungia

World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5th to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage people to take action to protect our planet. Like the previous year, the Commerce Forum and NSS Unit of Pandit Deendayal Upadhaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya Tulungia organized a special event to mark the occasion. The event began with a plantation drive, where saplings were planted on the college campus by students, faculty, and staff members. This was followed by a campus cleaning drive to remove plastic waste and other debris from the premises. The aim of the event was to emphasize the importance of taking concrete steps to combat environmental degradation. The Commerce Forum and NSS Unit of the college worked together to raise awareness about the need for sustainable practices and to encourage everyone to do their part in protecting the environment.
